Due to popular demand I am introducing a two-day intensive accent reduction course in Manchester. The course will explore 'the essentials' of accent reduction: vowel and consonant pronunciation in a standard British English accent. The detailed content of this course will be tailored to the specific needs and interests of those participating, whilst covering all necessary and essential elements of word pronunciation.

About this course

The course is designed for non-native as well as regional native speakers of English, who wish to soften, modify or reduce their accent towards a standard British English accent. Participants must be over 18 with a medium to good level of spoken English.

Accent reduction, known under many names: accent softening, training, acquisition, correction, modification, even accent neutralisation, - can help non-native speakers of English as well as native regional speakers, who feel that their accent is holding them back in either their personal or professional life from communicating fluently and efficiently. As a non-native speaker of English you may have lived in England and spoken English for a long time and are simply frustrated with always being asked 'where are you from' or 'when did you come to this country?' You may feel that in either your personal or professional life, people struggle to understand you or continually ask you to repeat yourself?
