The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a one year full time course designed specifically to enable mature students (age 19+) to gain the academic knowledge and skills necessary to apply to a university of your choice and/or improved job prospects including: Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Paramedics, Osteopathy, Human Biology, Physiotherapy, Laboratory work. Access courses are designed for people over 19 who are intending to apply for courses at universities or other Higher Education course providers, but do not yet possess the required academic entry qualifications. The College offers 2 pathways; Humanities and Health.

The College offers 2 pathways; Humanities and Health.
Who is this course for?
This 1 year course is 14.5 hours per week (in college) split over 2.5 days. You will study a minimum of the equivalent hours in your own time. You will have the option to study GCSE Maths (3hrs per week) alongside the course, subject to satisfactory assessment results. Work is assessed through assignments, presentations, practical experiments and written exams. You will need a Grade C in English and maths. Alternatively a grade D in maths and successful completion of a maths screening test may enable you to study GCSE maths alongside the course. You will also need to attend a 2-day Access Progression course.
