Chemical Industries Association Approved chemsafe Level 2/3 Responder Training

LINK Associates International has been approved by the CIA to deliver chemsafe level 2/3 responder training to those industries and personnel likely to respond to a land-based transport distribution emergency involving
chemicals and provide rapid expert advice.

The 3-day course will be held at LINK’s acclaimed simulation training suite at Derby, where delegates will have the opportunity to undertake a range of activities and scenario-based exercises associated with attendance at a
chemical incident, including interfacing with the emergency services, dealing with other response agencies, briefing response teams and engaging with the media. Utilising course leaders with a wide-range of response experience, the LINK course will allow delegates to understand and help prepare for the challenges and pressures of working at an incident scene.

Aims

To give delegates:
- A clear understanding of the chemsafe incident response mechanism,
especially levels 2 & 3
- An understanding of the incident scene key players
- An appreciation of the operational decisions they will be asked to make
- An awareness of the range of equipment needed to support a response team

Pre –course Qualifications and experience

No prior knowledge is required as the course will cover information sources
and typical product escape situations, as well as relevant elements of vehicle design. Experience of working in task-centred teams would be helpful.
