2. Course description The course aims to prepare students for progression to Higher Education. Learners will be introduced to and supported to master essential study skills and academic approaches to enable them to move forward successfully. Students will have the opportunity to develop a high level of understanding of subject areas they have a particular interest in and have chosen to explore in detail. Students will have the opportunity to work with aspects of English Literature English Language Studies Criminology Politics and Applied Psychology. Students will also be supported through Maths IT and tutorial sessions.

Entry requirements Though no formal entry qualifications are needed students will need to complete a Maths and English test with indication that they are suitable for level 3 study.Students will also be required to pass a group interview to assess their communication skills.Some degrees such as Teacher Training also require GCSE Maths English and Science at grade C or above.
