Access course study is of 'A2' Level standard, and while there are no formal entry requirements, we must ensure at interview that applicants have a good chance of success on the course, and in further study to which they aspire.

Summary
This course provides a recognised route to Higher Education courses in Nursing, Midwifery, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and other Health Care programmes. It may also lead to Higher Education degree courses in areas such as Health Studies, Sport Science, Social work, Psychology and Sociology. Access to Higher Education programmes are designed to meet the needs of students who may not have had the opportunity to enter Higher Education earlier in their lives. The course is delivered 2 evenings a week 6.30pm-9.00pm Mon and Tues.

Modules
The main areas of study for the NURSING PATHWAY are: Human Physiology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Hstory. The main areas of study in the HEALTH SCIENCE PATHWAY are:Human Physiology, Applied Health Sciences (Biochemistry and Physics). The main areas of study in the SPORT, HEALTH AND EXERCISE PATHWAY are Human Physiology, Applied Health Science, Psychology and Sociology of Sport and Exercise Physiology. All pathways include Study Skills, Mathematics, a project and use of Information Technology

It is also appropriate for students wishing to study for a degree in environmental or health sciences. SPORT, HEALTH and EXERCISE PATHWAY: This is a recognised route into Higher Education courses of Sport, Health and Exercise, Fitness Testing and other Health Fitness programmes. Returning to education at college is often a difficult step for adults, our staff are experienced and will help you to settle in. Students will have a personal tutor throughout their course for support and guidance.
