The course includes the following modules:-
· Human Physiology:
This looks in depth at how the digestive, breathing, circulatory and reproductive systems work.

There is some practical work on the course and occasionally this will involve using the lab facilities at Hyde Clarendon College.
Special Features: This course is specifically designed for adults aged over 19 who have been out of education for some time. A special feature of this course is the individualised programme of support that every student receives alongside their main programme. For example some students are dyslexic, but have nevertheless succeeded in fulfilling their ambition to study at a higher level.
The course is designed to accommodate the needs of parents and people who have flexible work patters.
Progression: This pathway leads onto Diploma Higher Education Nursing and Degree course in Nursing and Midwifery. The local universities include Manchester, Salford, Manchester Metropolitan University and Huddersfield. Please note that midwifery is very competitive. You will need an A Level and Access to Higher Education if you apply to Manchester University.
For Science Profession - Students intending to progress to areas such as Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc are recommended to combine Physical Sciences with Cell Biology and/or Human Physiology.
