If you have not yet gained the mandatory qualifications necessary to entry to higher education, this course provided by The Distance Learning Centre is the perfect choice.

The centre has more than 20 years of experience providing Access Courses which are completely flexible. Therefore, the programme and subjects may vary on your needs, previous qualifications and objectives.

Upon successful completion of the course and assessments, you will be able to develop a career working with families, children and young people, the elderly, vulnerable people, and those in crisis.

Training materials can be downloaded from the DLC webpage and personal tutors will provide advice through internet and phone calls. The course is flexible and has been especially designed to suit your needs, so you will decide its duration and when to study.

What I would highlight: Choosing to retreat into training was something I would have never predicted. What I would highlight: I think to shine with an Access Course. The possibility of preparing to be a paramedic, my fantasy work kept me roused. I have been juggling a full time, serious occupation with the NHS and even changed professions and moved house amid my studies. Jason has a BA (Hons) Degree in Sociology, Professional Diploma in Marketing Research and Information (CIM), Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Political Science. A very experienced teacher of Psychology, Sociology, Criminology and Health Studies, Jason has also been an Internal Verifier in Access to HE and an Examiner for the Open College of the North West. In addition, he has extensive experience of designing course materials across a range of subject specialisms.
