Course programme

You will learn the technical skills required to be an accountant. You will learn the importance of keeping records, how to keep records, the legal and ethical requirements on financial accounts, you will look at taxation, credit management, budgeting. You will learn how to produce financial statements for sole traders, partnership and Limited Companies. The modules you will complete include; Year 1 Introduction to financial accounting Professional development Introduction to management accounts Introduction to financial statements Finance functions Accounting regulations and corporate responsibility Year 2 Intermediate financial statements and analysis Taxation Costing Management accounting Work based project Budgets As well as the technical accountancy skills, you will also develop a range of academic skills such as presenting, referencing, research and writing.
