About this course
This course is aimed at learners who already have a level 3 qualification (i.e. AAT L3, A2s, extended/subsidiary diploma, Access to HE) or a strong portfolio of work. You are expected to hold GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or equivalent. We welcome applicants who do not match standard entry requirements but who can demonstrate ability to study this subject at university level, and who can evidence relevant experience. Year 1
You will demonstrate an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the accounting function within an organisation and examine ways of preventing and detecting fraud and systemic weaknesses.
You will also evaluate budgetary reporting; its effectiveness in controlling and improving organisational performance, and evaluate an organisation’s accounting control systems and procedures.
Additionally, you will analyse an organisation’s decision making and control using management accounting tools; analyse decision making and control using ratio analysis; and analyse the internal controls of an organisation and make recommendations.
