    Huddersfield

    3 Years

This degree provides a basis for a wide range of careers, including professional accountancy, finance, banking, insurance, the public sector and general management. We’ll give you the chance to get a good overview of all areas of accountancy and then focus your studies on financial services to help you succeed in your chosen field.

If you’re going to be an accountant it’s vital you understand how organisations are financed and managed. That’s what’s at the core of our degree. We’ll look at how companies are run, and then give you the opportunity to choose particular topics to study in more detail. Every business asks different things of its accountants. You could end up being responsible for cash flow, or carrying out financial audits.

Once you’ve got the groundwork in place, we’ll move on to look at financial services. This could cover anything from banking and pensions, to investments and hedge funds. In your career you might end up working on multi-million pound investments or analysing information for a financial audit, so we make sure we cover all the bases. Every business asks different things of its accountants and finance experts. You’ll get a real feel for what’s behind any successful organisation – how it’s financed and managed.
