What does the course involve?
Accounting qualifications at all levels enable students to interpret numerical data in the following two ways: Financial reporting, which evaluates successful performance and profit making. Decision making which includes the consideration of which product to make, cost reduction and the quantity of products to be made.
Accounting skills are essential to any business. You will soon be able to practise and apply techniques that are common to all organisations.
What will I study?
Introduction to Financial Accounting This develops the ability to produce final accounts and balance sheets of sole traders and limited companies. You will also learn how the financial structure, ownership and control differ in each of these.
Financial and Management Accounting This considers how accounting information can provide valuable information for measuring and monitoring business performance.
How is the course assessed?

Will this qualification help me be an accountant?
It will give you an understanding of double entry techniques, which book-keepers use. It will also give you exemption from some modules of the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), which is a popular accountancy qualification with employers, also available at Cirencester College. Chartered and Certified Accountants require further qualifications, such as a degree and further professional qualifications.
