Our MSc in Accounting, Management and Strategy will put you at the hub of day-to-day and strategic organisational life. About this course
Students will be equipped with the necessary skills to embark on various business-related careers. Those with an accounting and/or finance background will be able to pursue such exciting and fast-changing careers as management accountancy or management consultancy within business organisations. Others will be able to pursue a more general managerial career with increased financial and commercial astuteness, as well as nurture a global business perspective.

In this regard, the structure of the degree, with an emphasis on developing both technical and generic (soft) skills, in the context of a fast-changing business environment, will stand students in good stead.
Good first degree, preferably the equivalent of a UK 2:2 degree, in accounting or related discipline with significant accounting content and/or a relevant professional qualification.

Course programme
The course begins with a two week foundation module to bring all students up to a common minimum standard in management and business statistics. The foundation module also introduces you to the University’s learning resources (e.g. the library and study skills support) and encourages you to work in ‘teams’ exchanging your intellectual assets for your mutual benefit.

Teaching methods include lectures, workshops, group work and student presentations. The modules are designed to encourage you to think analytically and critically about the ways in which modern business organisations create and use information, in both operational and strategic contexts.
How you will be assessedModules are examined in December and April/ May. Students complete their supervised decision during the summer. The dissertation takes around three months to complete with a final draft to be submitted in August.
