About AAT

AAT was established by members of the CCAB bodies, which include ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, ICAS and CIPFA. Currently, AAT is funded and supported by all of the above bodies with the exception of the ACCA. The Association has 100,000 members worldwide.

Career Prospects

The AAT qualification is recognised worldwide. Thus it is a portable qualification that will enable its members and students to work in accounting and related fields in any part of the world.

• AAT 2 : Accounting work skills (Derived from NVQ Unit 4,7,21,22,23 & Computerised accounting paths of Unit 1,2 & 3)

• AAT 3 : Financial Accounting
• AAT 4 : Costing
• AAT 5 : Operating a cash management & credit control system
• AAT 6 : Accounting work skills* (If not completed at certificate level)
• AAT 7 : Professional ethics - new Unit

Advanced

• 5 : Managing People and Systems
• 6 : Drafting Financial Statements
• 7 : Planning Control and Performance Management

AAT Diploma in Accounting

• AAT 8 : Drafting financial statements
• AAT 9 : Management accounting
• AAT 10 : Managing systems & people in the accounting environment
• AAT 11 : Professional ethics (If not completed at advanced certificate level)
• AAT 12 : Preparing business taxation computations
• AAT 13 : Preparing personal taxation computation

Exemptions

Student can gain exemption from certificate level if they fully understand double entry book keeping up to trial balance. However, Unit 31 must be completed by all students who do not sit certificate level. Student must register with AAT at 00 44 207 837 8600 or visit .uk, both for membership and examination entry.

Student completing AAT Diploma level are exempt from ACCA & CIMA foundation level
