Introduction
Manual Handling is defined in The Manual Handling Operations Regulations as any transporting or supporting of a load which includes lifting, putting down, pulling, carrying or moving of an item by hand or by bodily force. This course is designed for employers and employees to demonstrate how to lift and move items safely and how to assess the risks from manual handling
Are you complying with the law?
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 2002 requires employers to reduce the risk of manual handling to a low as is reasonably practicable. The Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 requires the employer to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees. The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires employers to assess the work activities.
