Adobe Illustrator is a powerful vector based program used to create stunning graphic images, illustrations and logos. It can also be used for signs, labels, greetings cards and many more creative applications. Combined with other programs such as InDesign and Photoshop, It forms part of most designers creative armoury.

This is a workshop style course and delegates are encouraged to bring with them samples of the type of illustrations, logos and type manipulations, that they would like or are required to produce. The course aims to help you use this comprehensive program in a professional way. It is ideal for beginners or those who have had little or no experience with this software including: Graphic Designers, Illustrators, Interior Designers, Fashion & Fabric Designers, Exhibition Designers. It is ideal for anyone wanting to create professional scalable artwork.

Tina Rowe-Dunn

Training Director

Tina was formally trained as a Graphic Designer. In 1982 she set up her own design and advertising business and in 1992 she shifted her focus of attention to providing multi-media training across a range of software applications on both Apple Macs and Windows, whilst at the same time continuing to practice on a day-to-day basis as a marketing and design consultant, diversifying and combining traditional marketing with the web-based e-marketing and in particular search engine optimisation. Today, she divides her time between running the business, training and her first love – design.

Course programme

Course overview:

During this course participants will learn how to begin using Adobe Illustrator including:

Learning the basics of text handling, using the graphic tools and menus, setting up templates, outlines, importing and exporting files and preparing illustrator files for use with other programs such as InDesign, Quark XPress and Photoshop.

This is a workshop style course and delegates are encouraged to bring with them samples of the type of illustrations, type manipulations they will be required to produce.

A similar course is available as a one-day course option.

Additional information

Our short scheduled training courses are delivered by one of our vocationally trained experts (all our trainers practice in industry) in small groups - max of 6 persons although class size is typically 3-4, so that you gain a more personal and intensive training experience.  We actively encourage the attendees to bring with them examples of the type of work they need to produce, therefore making the course even more cost effective.

Shortcuts, hints and tips all help to ensure maximum productivity as soon as you get back to work. Your time is money and these workshop style courses can really help you save it!
