This course is open to all staff and the courses are delivered on site, bespoke to your needs and is designed to get the best from your team. Basic Life support (BLS) includes a valuable skills for all the staff within your organisation. A minimum of an annual update in BLS is a mandatory requirement for all clinical staff and is frequently provided for non clinical staff by many of our corporate clients. Courses can be delivered to either clinical, non-clinical or mixed according to your needs. Certificates are provided upon request.
Our current customers include Mental Health hospitals, Hospices, Research centres and many Independent hospitals throughout the Northwest and Central England.
We take great pride in the quality of our training and all our Instructors are registered as Advanced Life support (ALS) Instructors with the Resuscitation Council (UK) and have many years of experience in this area. The content of the courses includes:
- Pre-course reading provided 2 weeks prior to course
- Causes and prevention of cardiac arrest
- Basic Life Support including CPR, recovery position and management of choking
- Airway management including the insertion of LMA
- ALS algorithm
- Safe defibrillation
- Scenarios and candidate testing
- Successful candidates receive a certificate of competence (demonstrated during simulation) which is valid for 12 months
