Description
Nursing is a challenging, diverse and rewarding profession focussing on the physical and psychological care of people of all ages. Nursing students must hold the desire to help and support others since nursing is just as much about health promotion and wellbeing as it is about sustenance and rehabilitation from acute or long term disease.
Students studying Adult Nursing will learn about the holistic needs of people from early adulthood until old age and develop the ability to provide high quality care in complex situations and in a range of clinical and community settings.
Students will learn how to:
• Promote health and wellbeing
• Care for people suffering from acute or chronic disease
• Administer rehabilitation and palliative care
• Provide supportive care to those in the final days of their lives
We have the full support of many healthcare providers and are able to offer a wide range of clinical experiences across South West Wales. These include placements in the NHS and independent sector in hospitals and community settings.
Students rotate through different clinical specialities to ensure they have exposure to all aspects of Adult Nursing. In year three, they have a choice of clinical areas to support individual learning.
Students will be expected to travel across a wide geographical area, but course organisers take into account residential and travel requirements. Rural placements are also available. Find out more here.

About this course

Entry Requirements
Minimum BBB A level, health or science-related courses desirable. Minimum five grade A-C GCSE passes including Welsh/English language, Maths and a Physical Science or Double Award Science. In certain circumstances Key Skills Level 3 in Application of Number will be accepted in lieu of GCSE Mathematics and Key Skills Level 3 in Communication will be accepted in lieu of GCSE Welsh/English Language.
