How is the training delivered?
The NVQ Diploma is achieved by the creation of a site diary including workplace evidence and supported by on site assessments. Apprentices also attend Aldershot College once a week to learn the underpinning knowledge required and to develop their skills. In addition, there are regular progress monitoring and support visits to the workplace.

Entry requirements
Who is the Apprenticeship for?
The training programme is intended for new or existing staff working in a site carpentry business. The entry criteria are staff aged and over who have completed their Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Carpentry. GCSE’s will be considered along with the results of an initial assessment.

Subjects covered What does the Apprenticeship cover? The programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following five components: 1. NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Level 3 Site Carpentry) Optional units to meet business needs Mandatory Units • Confirm work activities and resources • Develop & maintain good working relationships • Confirm workplace method of work • Set up & use cutting & shaping machines • Install bespoke first fixing components • Install bespoke second fixing components Optional Units (choose 2) • Erect structural carcassing components • Maintain non-structural & structural components • Erect complex roof structural carcassing components 2. Technical Certificate: Diploma in Site Carpentry (Level 3) 3. Functional Skills: English & Maths Level 2 4. Employment Rights & Responsibilities Workbook 5.
