This course is designed for those working within the early years workforce with children aged from birth - 5 years. Applicants should be working in a registered childcare setting following the Early Years foundation stage curriculum such as a day nursery, childminders or preschool for 26 hours or more per week.

About this course
You will need to hold GCSE English grade C and GCSE maths grade C and be employed in an appropriate setting working with children aged from birth to 5 years old. You will need to be able to use your initiative, follow instruction without direct supervision and lead activities. You will also need to be ready, willing and able to undertake an ICT qualification at Level 2.

What will I study on the course?
You will learn how to promote children's welfare, learning and development working together with other professionals to enable positive outcomes for children in the early years. You will carry out observations and assessments of children over time and consider how these inform the activities and opportunities provided in the setting making links to the Early Years foundation stage curriculum.
