Course programme

Course Content: Alongside the Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, you will study Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths and ICT. Increasingly, schools are seeking support staff who can competently support children with the development of English and maths and who are confident in using ICT applications. Achieving recognised qualifications will therefore make you more employable. You will also explore Employee Rights and Responsibilities and will be required to engage in reflective practice and professional development. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed through a range of written tasks, professional discussions, observations of your skills and practice in school, reflective practice and professional and personal development plans. Your Functional Skills qualifications will be assessed through examinations. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You need stationery only.
