Course Content: Maths for Technicians Further Maths for Engineers Health and Safety Electrical Principles Mechanical Principles CAD CAM 3D Printing Materials Science Measurement and Inspection Techniques Secondary Processes and Controls Welding Principles Electrical Installation Communications for Engineers Engineering Project How will I be assessed? Assessment will be via assignments and formal examinations. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? We will provide all specialist equipment and PPE to complete the course. Candidates will be expected to provide their own scientific calculators with a two-line display (we recommend the Casio "fx" range of calculators), pens, pencils, full geometry set, ruler and A4 paper refill pad. What can I do after this course? Further study You can progress to the Foundation Degree in Engineering at Derby College in association with Sheffield Hallam University (two or three years study depending on the study programme). Successful completion of the Foundation Degree leads to a final year of study at Derby College and the full BEng (Hons) accreditation. The pathway provides access to becoming an accredited Chartered Engineer. Careers You can progress to a Higher Apprenticeship or to numerous careers within the engineering sector.
