Course Summary:
This qualification recognises the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming specific to the individual needs of a client.
Courses are planned to run in:
September - 20x Thursdays 6-9pm
February - 20x Thursday 6-9pm

Entry requirements
An understanding of anatomy and physiology is essential. So too is an understanding of health and safety practices within a gym-based environment.
You should have competency in English and maths to help with the theoretical aspects of the programme.

Course programme

Course Content: Learners will cover: anatomy and physiology health, safety and welfare principles of exercise, fitness and health communicating with clients effectively, and motivating clients to adhere to an exercise programme the principles of nutrition to support client goals as part of an exercise and physical activity programme designing, managing and adapting a personal training programme with apparently healthy adults of all ages delivering exercise and physical activity as part of a programme for apparently healthy adults of all ages. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed through: eAssessment multiple choice examination portfolio of evidence practical examination Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? There are no additional costs, although candidates may choose to pay for membership towards becoming a Registered Exercise Professional. What can I do after this course? On completion of the course, you will be qualified for employment in the fitness industry.
