Workshop Leader

Steve Van Matre, founder and chairman of The Institute for Earth Education, is a former professor of environmental interpretation and president and chief designer of an interpretive design and planning group. At various points in his career he has served as a youth leader, school teacher, camp director, educational consultant, university professor, workshop leader and public speaker. Professor Van Matre has conducted over 1000 training sessions and completed 20 world speaking tours on earth education as well as writing numerous books and articles.

Course programme

A day of stimulating sessions examining and improving participants' earth education skills. This day is for those who have previously attended an 'Earth Education Workshop'.
What will you gain?

That is achieved through:
• developing and strengthening peoples understandings of the major ecological systems and communities that support life on the planet
• helping people develop deep and lifelong emotional attachments to the earth and its life
• helping people 'live more lightly' by reducing their impact on the earth
This is done through designing and developing carefully crafted, dynamic, fun learning adventure.
The day starts at 9am and finishes at 4.30pm. It is a day of stimulating sessions examining and improving participants' earth education skills.
