To provide on and off the job training with the employer to gain competences towards the NVQ Level 3, this will be assessed and evidenced by BET's training officers. Within the four years, finally take an AM2 test to qualify as an electrican. Suitable for: 16 - 18 Year Olds with GCSE Grade C and above. Their will be an initial assesment which covers Key Skills, Diagnostics and Colour Vision.

Course programme
The advanced apprenticeship lasts for four years (although previous experience and qualifications may reduce this). Training will be provided to enable completion of the NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation. Training will also include the City & Guilds 2330 Certificate in Electrical Installation Technology and the Key Skills in Application of Number, Communications and Information and Communication Technology, and, finally the industries own practical performance assesment, the AM2 test, which is normally taken towards the end of the fourth year. An example of the timescale for delivery of training is shown below.
Year 1
Complete stage one NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook), complete City & Guilds 2330 leading to Level 2 qualification, completion of Key Skills portfolio and external tests.
Year 2
Complete stage 2 NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ Logbook), complete second year City & Guilds 2330 leading to full Level Three Technical Certificate Qualification.
Year 3
Complete stage 3 NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ Logbook).
Year 4
On site work experience with employer, undertake Practical Performance Assessment (AM2), NVQ level 3 certificate gained.
On completion of the apprenticeship an application to the Joint Industry Board (JIB) for grading as an electrician can be applied for.
