The Advanced Professional Diploma in Advertising (APDA for short) is a 30-week course, which aims to prepare graduates with a serious interest in advertising for a career in the industry

It has been running for over 30 years and is justifiably famous in the industry.

Students who complete the course successfully will have acquired the necessary analytical and practical skills and understanding to make a successful start in any of the major career paths within the marketing communications business - including creative, media, planning and account management.

Course content

As well as studying in advertising, students will be expected to understand wider theories of marketing, consumer psychology and behaviour, management theroy and practice and acquire a thorough understanding of the process of planning and buying advertising media.

The course invloves many team projects. In particular, students will plan and present two new business ' pitches' in realisitc, competitive environment.

A four-week placement in an advertising or media agency -arranged by the students with help and advice from tutors - is another valuable element of the course.
