Advanced Screenwriting Workshop

Whether you’re working on a first draft, or preparing your script to send to agents or producers (or Cannes!) this course is for you.

Whatever the genre or budget, we’ll look at what your script needs: from overall story arc to individual scene structure; from creating engaging characters to making dialogue come alive. We’ll consider pacing, tone and how to generate tension. We’ll look at a broad background of films and TV drama for inspiration: current, classic and obscure.

In a small, supportive group, writers will take turns to share chosen scenes from work in progress (three each week) and receive peer feedback, together with detailed advice from an experienced tutor, to assess what’s working and what isn’t - yet.

The aim is to give you clarity, confidence and the tools to make the very best of your story, whatever stage you’re at
