Suitable for: This course suits anyone in possession of a Logic or Pro Tools certification, or who has recently graduated from a sound engineering college, or who can claim at least two years' of self-taught experience in a home-studio.

This is not a beginner's course: a basic understanding of mixers, effects, compression and music software is required to attend this session. If in doubt contact the London School of Sound during office hours to discuss your case.

This course covers a combination of specific techniques used to reach that elusive 'release-quality' often mentioned in recording contracts.
While having a good song, a good performance and a good recording remains the essential recipe for success, there are a lot of other little things that, summed together, can turn something good into something great. Being able to make this difference is what makes certain producers and engineers so in demand, and learning these skills is crucial to your development in music production.

* Phase considerations and digital audio
* Post-production on vocals: allignment, tuning, dynamics and more
* Post-production on drums: sound replacement, quantizing audio
* Critical overview of exsisting equipment and features
Evening part-time MP301: The course lasts 12 weeks, with a frequency of one evening lecture per week of three hours.
Full-time MP303: This option is only available as part of a Diploma course. For students enrolled in a full-time course the MP303 Advanced Studio Techniques consists the same lectures offered in the MP301 course but includes practical time in the studio plus an additional six weeks of practical time to complete the coursework.
