In the morning we will review the student course including: Basic Anatomy & Physiology of the Respiratory System Basic Anatomy & Physiology of the Circulatory System Basic Life Support The Chain of Survival and Benefits of Early Defibrillation Resuscitation Council Guidelines on the use of an AED Introduction to an AED and General Safety Precautions In the afternoon you will learn: The different features and benefits of each defibrillator including models from Cardiac Science, Phillips, Heartsine, Defibtech, Medtronic, Welch Allyn, Zoll and Schiller. Suitable for: Candidates must be a First Aid Trainer, Healthcare Professional or other appropriately qualified or experienced individual with a teaching qualification.

About this course
Course pre-requisite: Candidates must be a First Aid Trainer, Healthcare Professional,(Ambulance staff, Doctor or Nurse) or other appropriately qualified or experienced individual with a teaching qualification. Basic Life Support skills are not taught on the course, as such there is an expectation that these skills can be performed to demonstration quality. No certification will be issued to individuals who are unable to perform the necessary skills.

To successfully be awarded with an AED Instructor Certificate you must pass a Written and Practical Assessment.
