AUDIENCE: This course is for experienced operators used to larger enterprise systems. This course would be especially suitable for experienced OS/390 or z/OS operators who now also have to provide operations cover and support assistance of AIX-based Systems.
PREREQUISITES: Attendees should have a good basic understanding of operations for another major operating system in an enterprise environment. No prior knowledge of UNIX is required.
DURATION: 3 days. Hands on.
OBJECTIVES: This course will provide attendees with the self sufficiency and confidence to operate and help support an AIX based system, typically based on IBM pSeries or RS/6000 Servers. This course will also provide a firm base on which more advanced system administration training can be based.
On completion of the course delegates will be able to:
· Cope with the daily operations of a multi-user AIX site.
· Interface to other support functions such as system administrators, server support or help desks.
