This course covers general allergies, food allergies and food intolerances, explains the differences between them and essential allergy information which can help to control the risk. According to Allergy UK, 44% of the UK population suffer from at least one allergy. Furthermore, 48% of allergy sufferers are affected by more than one allergy. It’s is important for you and your business to have enough information to control the risk and take the practical measures to control the allergens in your food preparation. This online course takes a detailed look at the symptoms of food allergies, 14 allergens controlled by legislation along with food additives and how they can trigger allergic reactions. It also takes in the wider picture discussing the current theories of why rates are increasing and the steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of allergens.
