It is not easy to describe the activities and characteristics of a
mountain guide with a few simple words: very often mountain-goers
do not know the mountain guides and only when they decide to hike
with one of them do they realize what it means. really. Rock climbing,
classic mountaineering, ski mountaineering, freeride, ice climbing,
canyoning are the activities for which the mountain guides are highly
trained on a technical level, but it is not enough. The training to
become a mountain guide includes a whole other series of subjects
and topics related to knowledge of the environment, snow science,
self-rescue, risk management and the ability to relate to others that
make it the only one professional figure recognized nationally and
internationally. The mountain guard is, therefore, the professional
figure who has the task of guiding hikers and mountaineers along the
paths and mountain routes and holds the role of professional
mountaineer, with in-depth knowledge of climbing, crossing
snowfields and glaciers and all those activities related to the
mountains, including emergency ones.
