Introduction to course
"A picture is well composed if its constituents - whether figures or apples or just shapes - form a harmony which pleases the eye when regarded as two-dimentional shapes on a flat ground". Peter and Linda Murray - A Dictionary of Art and Artists. The course seeks to broaden the visual perception of those taking part.

Course Details
The work will include the acquisition of skills related to photographic materials, processes and techniques whilst promoting an individual approach to personal work. The study and critical analysis of the work of artists and photographers will provide the contextual foundation for the practical work.

Further and Higher education courses in Lens Based Media, Digital Imaging and Photography. Employment opportunities exist in advertising, journalism, fine art and other related industries, and further advice can be obtained from your tutor during the course.

Course Assessment
Advanced Subsidiary (AS) forms 50% of the assessment weighting of a full A level. AS can be taken as a stand-alone unit or as part of a full A level course. One coursework unit 60% and an exam unit 40% at both AS and A2 levels
