Here we explain the main parts of the syllabus:

  • Introduction: Life chemistry (chemical bonds, water, acids and bases, biomolecules), homeostasis, botanical elements, ecosystems, adaptation and fitness.
  • The cell: eukaryotes, prokaryotes, cellular organization, transport, cellular respiration, fermentation, photosynthesis.
  • Genetics and heredity: nucleic acids, replication, duplication, mutations, translation and transcription of RNA and DNA, Mendel, cloning, biotechnology.
  • Main animal’s phyla: Terry cloth, Cnidarians, Flatworms, Mollusc, Annelid, Arachnids, Shellfish, Insects, Echinoderms, Fishes, Amphibian, Reptiles, Birds, Mammals.
  • Concepts of evolutionary adaptation: Darwin, natural selection, populations genetics, reproduction, DNA technology and genomics.
  • Elements of general pathology: health, inflammation, fever, tumors.
  • General Botany: Introduction, not vascular terrestrial plants (Briophytes), vascular plants (seaweed, pteridophyta, gymnospermae and angiosperms), main mushroom's Phyla.
  • Plant anatomy.
  • Woody plants and reproduction: biological cycle, types of reproduction.
  • Classification of flowering plants.
  • Pathologies and problems of plants.
