Animal welfare means how an animal is coping with the conditions in which it lives. An animal is in a good state of welfare if (as indicated by scientific evidence) it is healthy, comfortable, well nourished, safe, able to express innate behaviour, and if it is not suffering from unpleasant states such as pain, fear, and distress.
The Distance Learning Animal Welfare course will help develop your understanding of Animal Welfare within a wide range of contexts. You will gain an understanding of ethics involved in the care, farming and conservation of animals.
This course covers legal, ethical, commercial, agricultural and conservational aspects of animal welfare, from marine life and elephants, to the ethical farming in the UK. Maximum coverage of welfare topics is provided with this course, looking at different animals and their habitats.
