About this course

Develop interesting characters, narratives and illustrations, creating storyboards exploring form, movement and unique storytelling skills. We’ll give you the chance to experience every aspect, to help you develop powerful, visually smart and creative ideas for your animation.
Look at idents, stings and shorts, giving you the opportunity to develop your own unique visual language and gain the technical skills to help your ideas take shape.
Work in our new Barbara Hepworth Building, encouraging cross subject working and use our specialist studios,Doing this will allow you to collaborate and spark ideas across the wider community.
Get the chance to take part in workshops, live briefs and international design competitions. It’s all designed to get you ready for placements, internships and future employment once you’ve graduated.

This course aims to help you to develop the skills needed for roles such as director, producer, art director, storyboard artist, 3D animator/artist, modeller, VFX (visual effects) producer, motion designer, digital designer, advertiser, interaction designer, interface developer, effects/technical director, editor, production co-ordinator and runner.

As a centre of creative excellence, we look forward to hearing about your own creative experiments and ambitions through a discussion of your portfolio at interview.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum of IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
