Course programme
In our postgraduate Animation programmes we develop and extend our philosophy of animation which centres on an open-minded and critical approach to technology, our purpose is to make films, and our methods serve that purpose. This manifests itself in the encouragement of students to find the the most elegant, efficient and appropriate solution to a film project, rather than simply the most recent.
If you’d like to make a film that’s entirely your own, develop a voice that’s uniquely yours and immerse yourself in a discipline that is equal parts art and science, this programme is for you.
As a student you will bring drawings, paintings, objects, models, puppets and text to life. You won’t just make them move, you will imbue them with heart and soul that will not only engage audiences, but encourage them to suspend their disbelief. As a postgraduate student you will be independent, innovative and progressive in your approach to animation.
Our programme is small and this allows us to teach in ways that are unique. You will access state of the art CGI labs, a LAN render farm with 64 dedicated CPUs, stop frame studios and rostrum cameras. Most of our students make films; however, some make games, apps or music videos.
Working within a collaborative studio environment, you will benefit from the support of your peers and their diversity of opinion, approach and experience.
