Candidate Suitability

This certificate is for experienced Level 3's who have never gained a qualification or whose qualification is out of date (pre1989). It has the same status as any other vocational related qualification on the childcare part of the NQF at the same level.

Course programme and content

This is a reflective and not a taught course so you will be drawing on your past knowledge and experience working within this sector. The course is completed via distance learning using a toolkit and the guidance of a mentor

Assessment method

This is via completion of a ten section portfolio supported by two professional testimonials. The portfolio is marked by a scrutineer and if it passes the required minimum score it is then submitted to the City & Guilds panel to be considered at their next meeting.
