Introduction
New for 2010 - APM has introduced a new route to APMP for PRINCE2® Registered Practitioners which offers a wide range of benefits, including:
A complement to the PRINCE2 methodology, equipping professionals with the skills to effectively manage projects.
Support by the UK Government through the Office of Government and Commerce.
An essential professional differentiator for existing PRINCE2 Registered Practitioners.
• The most efficient way of demonstrating achievement in professional project management.
• Exemption from 12 topics in the APMP syllabus already covered in the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification asking the candidate 6 questions from 10 in 2 hours.
• Essential topics not available in the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification including budgeting and cost management, conflict management, communication, earned value management, leadership, negotiation, procurement, sponsorship and teamwork.
There are two examination routes for the APMP qualification:
- A three hour paper where candidates must answer ten from sixteen questions covering 37 syllabus topics
Or
- A two hour paper that recognises prior learning for current PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner. In this paper, candidates must answer six from ten questions covering 25 topics.
