Course Objectives

On completion of the course, delegates should be able to:

• Identify the various plant and equipment used to distribute electricity.
• Show an understanding of the electricity distribution system.
• Understand the application of the laws associated with the industry.
• Understand the consequences of coming in to contact with live electrical conductors.
• Recognise and identify electricity cables, joints and ancillary equipment.
• Understand the significance of the safety procedures of the industry.
• Understand cable laying good practice.
• Understand safe excavation requirements detailed in HSG47.
• Understand in-company procedures.
