APPRENTICESHIP HAIRDRESSING

Who is this course for?

This course is for those who want to develop their hairdressing skills and be able to cut, colour and shape their clients' hair to create the style they request. Some then go on to specialise in a particular client group or technique, for example, specialist work with hair pieces.

How long is this course for?

Level 1 = 1 year
Level 2 = 2 years
Level 3 = 1 year

What will I study?
The following subjects may be covered:
  • Health and Safety
  • Consultation
  • Shampoo and Condition Hair
  • Blow Drying and Setting
  • Cutting
  • Perming Techniques
  • Colouring
  • Reception Duties
  • Team Work
  • Essential Skills in Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology Applicants who have achieved GCSE English, Mathematics or IT at grades A-C, will be exempt from the equivalent essential skill.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be an on going process. You may be assessed through practical demonstration, oral questioning, assignment/project work, written tests and simulation. As a participant hairdresser you will be required to carry out hairdressing treatments in a realistic working environment.
