Course programme
The Process Manufacturing apprenticeship framework provides work based training to undertake key technical, operational and maintenance roles in the chemical, petro-chemical, pharmaceutical, refinery and other related process industries.
All apprenticeship applicants should be aware of the varied working conditions that may include:
working at heights
shiftwork (including nights and weekends)
365 day operations
working outdoors
wearing specialist safety equipment
working within high-hazard environments
Your job role may include carrying out routine maintenance and repair of basic plant and equipment, including pumps, valves, temperature gauges, filtration equipment, tanks and vessels.
Entry Requirements
- You must be employed by an engineering company to start the course. (If you have not got an employer the college will aid you to find a company but cannot guarantee employment.)
- GCSE grade A*-C in English language, maths and a science,
- a multi-choice mechanical aptitude test,
- a satisfactory interview.
