3 day drawing and painting course
Course Outline:
Martyn Brewster takes you through his ‘Approaches to Landscape’ making studies on the 700 acres on Wiltshire downland surrounding Rabley Drawing Centre. Working in a small group you will receive individual tuition on your ideas and images. The course will encourage compositional development and there will be an opportunity to experiment with a variety of drawing mediums, extending your processes from pencil, charcoal and ink and wash towards watercolour and painterly mediums. Working from the sketchbook to the studio you will be encouraged to develop your ideas in a figurative or abstract manor defined by your own interests.
About the Tutor:
Martyn Brewster’s is an abstract painter and printmaker. Drawing is at the core if fine art practice. He is an encouraging tutor who brings his expertise and experience to the studio through three popular courses: ‘Approaches to Drawing’, Towards Abstraction – Painting and Drawing. And ‘Colour and Abstraction’ – monotype printmaking and drawing.
Martyn Brewster’s paintings and prints are in international public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum. His prints are the subject of a recent book written by Simon Olding and Vivienne Light : Martyn Brewster: Prints 1975-2007.
