Cost
At the beginning of the course you will need to buy some basic equipment and sketchbooks from our college shop, which will cost about 25. There will also be a studio fee.
The Programme
The programme consists of four Core Units and two Specialist Units covering a wide range of Creative Arts related skills, including Graphics, Media and Photography. Students also have the opportunity to retake Maths and English GCSEs if necessary.
The Programme Content
Designed to ensure students develop all their creative skills. Through a variety of assignment and workshops students explore and experiment with a range of materials, techniques and processes. The course aims to prepare learners for entry onto Level 3 Art and Design courses.
Progression / Careers
A First Diploma is the equivalent of four GCSEs at Grade A*-C depending on the final grades achieved. The qualification provides the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 course, usually in Art and Design, or onto a job or trainee position in a related job situation.
