Programme Description:
This two year Extended Diploma in Art and Design is a level 3 programme which focuses on developing skills and creativity across art and design. Learners explore a range of creative subjects which include drawing and painting, fashion and textiles, digital photography, graphics, interior and product design, sculpture, ceramics, and contextual studies.
On successful completion of year one, learners can select a specialist pathway suited to their career progression, for example, Fine Art, Fashion & Textiles, Digital Media or 2D/3D Design and Craft. After successful completion of year two, learners may apply to higher education or seek employment opportunities.
As part of the programme learners will also complete either the Welsh Baccalaureate or Essential Skills Qualifications. Opportunities will also be provided for GCSE resits in English, Maths and Welsh Language if required.

Programme Features:
- Learners have the opportunity to develop their understanding of, and experience in, a wide range of art and design subjects

- All students may exhibit their work in a local exhibition open to the public

- Learners experience a variety of workshops within HE courses at Carmarthen School of Art's Jobs Wel campus.
Programme Content:
Year 1 core units include: Visual Recording, Materials, Techniques and Technology, Ideas and Concepts, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Contextual Studies, Art & Design Exploration and Application.
Year 2 specialist units relate to chosen pathways.
