Introduction:
This is a full time adult course which offers an exciting opportunity to advance your skills in a wide range of art and design subjects and is also designed to lead to specialisation and degree entry. All subjects are taught by highly qualified and experienced professionals in vocationally designed and designated studios. The course progresses in three phases from exploratory projects, to specialist skills development, to a personal final major project. This course also includes a Level 3 Photography qualification.

Study Mode & Location:
This course has attendance on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, in term time from 9.30am to 3.45pm each day. All courses are based at the Park Campus, a spacious, attractive, modernised building with views onto open parklands. This campus also offers modern facilities including spacious well-equipped studios, a well-stocked library/learning centre, a campus art & design shop, a bistro-refectory, ample car parking spaces, and computing and internet access.

Course Content:
Group projects and regular personal tuition in class will help you to develop skills in Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Photography, Fashion, Textiles, Graphic Design, Computer -Aided Design, Illustration, Life Class, and Contextual Studies. Throughout all the Exploratory, Specialist, and Final stages there is always an emphasis on your personal practical and creative development and expression.

There will be visits to various exhibitions, workshops and events, weekly enrichment options, extra activities such as â€-The Big Draw', The Fashion Show, and Saatchi Website Gallery all as part of the course. Also the Park Campus stages a major public exhibition of art and design at the end of the course called â€-The Summer Show' and you will be taught presentation skills to prepare for this.

Assessment:
This will be done through continuous assessment based on projects set throughout the course. Portfolios are also externally moderated by the BTEC and ABC boards.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of this full year course allows you to progress to degree level and to apply for B.A. courses in any kind of art and design at universities anywhere in this country. During the year you will receive regular advice and guidance about - careers in art and design; completing UCAS degree application forms; information on fees, bursaries and grants; writing a personal statement; portfolio selection and presentation; and interview preparation.

Course Costs:
The tuition and examination costs for both qualifications are inclusive. Please note that those in receipt of benefits may be eligible for a free place. Also some students may be entitled to the Adult Learners Grant of £30 weekly, depending on their personal circumstances. All students will need to spend about £100 for art materials - but spread over the year. Also students should budget about £50 to cover the cost of trips. There are also further college grants available to assist with these course expenses - awarded depending on personal circumstances.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with an Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
