Run by an energetic and enthusiastic team of lecturers who are practicing artists, freelance commercial designers and photographers. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll be able to extend your technical skills and build confidence in your creative ability. You can choose your specialism, and study either by day or evening. You will be encouraged to explore materials, approaches and techniques in four themed art and design projects.
Equaly valuable, graduates achieve a specialist portfolio that expresses their personal brand of art and design, enabling access to top universities and employment as a professional qualified Artist or Designer.

Students receive access to their own online studio where they can work through their course. Units and assignments are listed along with supporting resources, video tutorials for skills development, step by step guides etc. Photographs of students' completed work are uploaded to their college e portfolio for assessment and constructive, friendly written feedback on how to progress. Additionally students are invited to discuss with an experienced and qualified personal tutor their progress and receive face to face verbal feedback, encouragement and support. Students may also benefit from relationships with their fellow online students as they can view profiles and comment on each others' art work if they wish.
Assessment
Formative as courses progress and summative at the end of units and the course. Your Final Major Project will be assessed externally by the exam board and this will decide your final grade. You will be kept informed every step of the way on how to improve your work. Structure Of The Course
A level distance learning courses in art and design. This course has been developed to allow students to actively experience a range of art and design processes and contexts. You may be contemplating a career in advertising, media, film and television, publishing, architecture, graphics, museum and exhibition work, theatre design, interior design, art galleries, jewellery, fashion, photography, textiles or teaching Art and Design. This course is a good basis for Further/Higher Education leading to a wide variety of careers in the Art and Design sector and will earn UCAS points that contribute to university admission requirements.Experimenting with a range of media in 2D and 3D, students develop their existing creative and technical skills, producing a varied and exciting portfolio of work. Working to broad themes for coursework and exam project, there is the opportunity to develop ideas, with the only limit being one's imagination. Alongside fundamental drawing and painting techniques, students are also able to explore printmaking, photography, design, textiles, model making and animation. As part of the course students are expected to go on study visits to national galleries.Students receive access to our online college site where they can access and work through their course. Your lead tutor will also help you throught the UCAS reference and application for university if required.
