Course programme

What you need to know
How will I study?

You will work through essential workshops during the first term and the course covers the following areas: core visual studies, painting, drawing, critical studies, life drawing, professional development, video, installation, graphics, print, sculpture, book-arts, textiles, fashion and illustration. This allows risk taking and experimentation, which supports specialisation. During spring and summer terms, you will work independently in the studio with tutorials and present your work in a final show.
How will I be taught?

Starting with a series of workshops that cover the core art and design areas, you will move on to a self-directed project with support from tutors and mentors. You will complete the course by working on a final project that ends in a show for the public, this process supports the growth of independence. There is a focus on contemporary and experimental art and design practice.
How will I be assessed?

You will continually get personal feedback about your progress and how to best achieve the course and your progression aims. Assessments are portfolio based and all work is considered, except for the final assessment, which is exhibition based.
