Mass politics, war and revolution prompted social and political commentary from artists in a range of media. Whilst engaging with diverse practices, this course will focus primarily on graphic art, analysing propaganda posters and political cartoons and illustrations. We will culturally contextualise visual materials that were produced in consensus with, or attacks on, the dominant order.
