Course programme

This course prepares you for undergraduate study in the arts and humanities. It means you can try different subjects at university before choosing to specialise in your degree.

Core modules introduce you to the study of history and exploring literary genres. You choose an option in areas such as:

  • business, management and economics
  • film and drama
  • psychology
  • education and social work
  • law, politics and sociology
  • global studies and languages.

The Foundation Year will help you develop your personal and academic abilities. You gain transferable skills by giving presentations, taking part in seminar discussions and writing essays.

These modules are running in the academic year 2018/19. We also plan to offer them in future academic years. They may become unavailable due to staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum. We’ll make sure to let our applicants know of such changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
