The course aims to provide an insight into the nature of psychology as a science. The A2 course is designed to develop your knowledge, from AS level psychology, of the psychological approaches, theories, concepts and methods, and of how science works. You will also be introduced to important issues and debates within psychology as applied to contemporary psychological topics.

Psychological Research and the Scientific Method This course highlights the importance of applying knowledge and understanding rather than just acquiring knowledge. This will help you to develop transferable skills, such as analysis, evaluation and critical thinking, particularly in terms of considering the findings of psychological research. The A Level Centre is located in our award winning £9m extension which added 60 more classrooms to Park Lane Campus. There will be an expectation that all students undertake 4 AS in year 1 and 3 A2 in year 2.
Offers will be conditional on achieving 5 GCSEs at grade A*- C including English and Maths, plus 2 additional GCSEs at grade A*- C or 2 equivalent vocational qualifications, if recognised in Performance Tables.

A-Level Psychology is considered to be appropriate for many different degree courses including Psychology, Pharmacy, Business, Personnel, Teaching and Accountancy. If you are aged 19 or over and considering enrolling on a further education course at Level 3 or above, you may be entitled to an Advanced Learner Loan to help with course fees.
